My research interests lie in the broad areas of formal semantics, the semantics/pragmatics interface, semantic change, semantic creativity and variation in meaning. My most recent projects investigate innovative uses of the present perfect in Australian English as well as cross-linguistic comparison of the development of perfects.

My research interests centre around computational linguistics. At the moment I am focussed on the application of computational and Bayesian methods to identifying language relatedness and doing comparative reconstruction.
