Linguistics at UWA

The Discipline Group of Linguistics is in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at The University of Western Australia, in the city of Perth.

The Group has expertise in:

  • Language documentation, grammatical description and linguistic typology:
    • Australian Aboriginal languages
    • Pacific languages
    • Northwest Semitic languages
  • Language change, language contact, linguistic variation
  • Phonetics, phonology, morphology
  • Syntax and semantics
  • Technology for linguistic research

We offer courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
