Linguist List

With over 25,000 subscribers (in 2007), this is the major international email list for linguists - and it started at UWA! It includes: queries and discussions on linguistic topics; announcements of new publications and conferences; and job ads. It offers a daily digest service, LinguistLite, which is recommended due to the high volume of messages on this list.

Linguist is much more than an email list though, its site is a real hub for linguistic resources.

Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL)

The language-oriented arm of a missionary organisation. SIL makes available a range of products that are useful to linguists, especially fonts and software.
